OUR STORY
After an unexpected turn of events as beverage buyer for a grocery chain, Jim Meyers decided to turn his dream of owning a unique, bargain-oriented wine shop into a reality. In 1999, he opened Wine Thieves in Lafayette with long-time friend and late business partner, Bennett Burke. From 2004 to 2013, Rod Santos was also part of the gang, but has since hung his Wine Thieves hat and currently resides in the Napa Valley. Today, Jim and his band of Thieves are running the wine shop and Jim's dream has remained the same.

Over the years, Wine Thieves has carved out a quaint, personable niche that customers crave; one that separates them from the detached atmosphere of larger grocery chains. Jim admits, "I love it when I am helping someone out to their car with wine and I see bags full of groceries from Safeway, Trader Joe's or Whole Foods. Yet, they made a conscious decision to come to Wine Thieves for their wine. It tells me we must be doing something right. That's what excites me, I get goose bumps just thinking about it".

BECOME A MEMBER
Our wine club is a great way to try new wines! On the 15th of every month, we release two bottles of wine, specially selected with our members' tastes in mind. We have a variety of tiers to choose from:
The Pickpocket Gang
Our most-affordable monthly habit: just $24.99
(One white, one red, each average $12 to $13/bottle)
The Bandit Gang
Two whites or two reds: only $30.99
(Two reds OR two whites, your choice)
The Thieves Gang
Our more premium selections: only $36.99
(One white, one red, each average $18/bottle)
The Embezzlers Gang
Our super-premium tier (and still a great value!): only $74.99
(Mostly two red wines, but we've been known to sneak in a remarkable white on occasion)

If you live nearby, you can pick up your wines to avoid any shipping costs! Otherwise, we do ship to many states, just ask.

Did you forget to pick up your wine club? No worries! We hold up to three months-worth of your wine club selections. But if you have been really bad, don't worry, we will provide a comparable alternative for you so you always get your money's worth. And if you don't drink your wine selection right away, you can look up the last 12 months' worth in our Wine Club Archives.

Wine club customers are eligible for a discount on our already rock-bottom prices. Any in-store purchase of 6 or more bottles qualifies you for a 10% pre-tax discount (Note: discounts do not apply to special orders of wines we do not usually have in stock).

NO HIDDEN FEES: we debit your credit card each month for the amount shown above, plus tax and any applicable shipping charge. We ask for a minimum commitment of three months; after which you can cancel at any time.... but why would you want to?

TASTING SCHEDULE
SATURDAY AFTERNOON WINE FLIGHTS: Every Saturday afternoon at Wine Thieves. We will offer a tasting of 4 wines which have something in common. Possibly the same grape, region or type of wine. Every Saturday from Noon - 6pm!....$15
We also serve wine and beer by the glass any time!

Private Tastings
HOST AN EVENT
NOTE: Our outdoor back patio is available for private events (weather permitting). We can accommodate a minimum of 15 guests to reserve the entire patio and a maximum of 30 guests.
Here's what to do:

Pick a handful of dates you are interested in for hosting your event: Fridays & Saturdays book up quickly, so call 925-299-9070 at least a month ahead to check availability.

You may invite a minimum of 15 guests and a maximum of 30 (see below for minimum cost requirements and details).

You may bring your own snacks/appetizers if you'd like, but please be advised that hot food needs to be prepared ahead of time, as we do not have a kitchen or food prep area. If you would like to have your event catered, we recommend:
~ Classic Catering in Pleasant Hill is great for formal events. They also provide linens and other rental equipment that may be required.

COST: Costs for each individual event will vary based on number of people, host, no-host etc., so please inquire. Facility rental includes two hours time, glassware for wine tasting, your very own choice of wines from our store (or let us choose for a fun, "around-the-world" experience). These events can be "no-host" casual, or if you'd like a more formal/educational and of course, fun tasting, we can also provide your very own Wine Thieves specialist to host your event!

OFFSITE TASTINGS: We also accommodate offsite tastings for $75/hour, plus the cost of wine opened (glassware not provided for offsite tastings).

Rent a wine locker!
Secure your wine in a temperature-controlled locker for short or long term storage!
Wine locker storage includes the following features:

Temperature is monitored and maintained at 58 degrees

Each locker holds up to 41 cases and cases are stacked only 2 deep

Renters have exclusive access to their lockers 7 days a week

Facility is secured And Protected by alarm; renters are given a unique code for the facility door and a key fob to disarm the alarm

Video monitoring records everyone entering and exiting the facility

Ground level access to facility with a wine locker reserved parking spot close to facility entrance

Access to a handcart for the convenience of moving wine in and out
